Bianca and friends October 2025: We loved our stay with Hanneke and Ian. The accommodation was spotless, so clean, excellent facilities, and the breakfast was superb. They even accommodated one of our party making a rogue earlier than expected check-in time (really sorry, it was a surprise to us as well!). 100% would use again.

Simon March 2025: The place was brilliant and better than the listing. Allison was such a lovely host and made us feel right at home - thank you. The beds were very comfortable and ideal after a long day in the hills. It was great to have the drying room, two showers and a cosy sitting room to sit down in. A great find ☺️

Phil September 2025: Hanneke and Ian are great hosts, friendly and helpful, and they know the area well. The property is in the town and there are some parking spaces right outside/opposite, so do call ahead and they will assist you. The set-up is good, with private rooms and shower rooms for each set of guests. The breakfast is a very welcome addition, especially for the already great value of the room. The bedding is comfortable, and the whole property is immaculate. I would definitely stay here again, thank you.

Simon May 2025 - We had a wonderful stay with Hanneke and Ian! From the moment we arrived, they made us feel incredibly welcome. The space was clean, comfortable, and beautifully decorated, with everything we needed for our stay. It’s clear they’ve put a lot of thought and care into creating a lovely environment for their guests.

Hanneke and Ian were also fantastic hosts friendly, helpful, and always available if we had any questions. Their local tips were spot-on and really added to our experience. We’d absolutely recommend staying with them and hope to return again in the future!

Paul May 2025 - An immaculate place, lovingly decorated and furnished, run by very friendly and helpful people. The kids loved it. Perfect location in the town centre with most amenities and great pubs and restaurants. Cannot recommend Plas Isa enough. We will definitely be back. Thank you.

William August 2024 - Ian and Hanneke were extremely friendly and responsive from booking to check out! They went the extra mile with recommendations and are clearly super proud (as they should be!) of their place and their surroundings too. The water pressure on the showers was 👌They were often around the hostel and keen to chat, so I'm sure if we were short of something to do we wouldn't be short of an idea! We would highly recommend ☺️ thanks I & H!

Rachel September 2025: A superb stay, it was the perfect base to walk Cader Idris. The place is spotlessly clean and had everything we needed and more. Ian and Hanneke were the perfect hosts, catering to all our needs and giving us great advice for our walk and the local area. We will definitely be back to stay when we do our next walk in Snowdonia. Thank you.

Roxanne April 2025: Second time of staying here and we'll be back again. A lovely setting, very clean, very welcoming and a lovely place to spend a weekend. Thank you Ian and Hanneke for being fabulous hosts x

Lena & friends May 2025 - We originally came for just one night and ended up feeling so sad to leave. We’ll definitely return when we’re back in the area—and stay a bit longer next time!
Cader Idris is just a short hop away, and the surroundings are perfect for hiking and enjoying nature. The small village is wonderfully quiet if that’s what you’re looking for, but still has lovely pubs and great restaurants just around the corner. It’s a truly beautiful place. The room and house were spotless and beautifully kept, and Ian welcomed us so warmly and kindly—everyone was so kind and friendly-it really was much more than we expected.

Sam April 2025 - Had a great stay at Plas Isa as a cyclist. The host were super accommodating of us and got us and all our wet gear straight inside on arrival, with a dry, secure place to store our bikes. The rooms were clean and comfy with loads of great pubs around to get food. I would recommend Plas Isa to anyone passing through Dolgellau, especially cyclists.

Sue August 2024 - Ian and Hanneke are so friendly. They worked seamlessly to make our stay as comfortable as at home. They came out to meet us when we about to arrive, directed us to car park and checked us in, answered all our queries. All the documents , maps, walking routs and the booklets in the dinning room offered plenty of information to give us sufficient idea about the area. Ian himself is a living information book, he gave me lots of ideas about where to go.

The couple was so thoughtful. When we mentioned that we would start our journey early so would not be able to wait for their cooked breakfast, Hanneke prepared cereal, milk, bread, fruits, yogurt and juices for us. We were really touched by their warm heart. The place is very clean. The kitchen is very convenient if you prefer to cook your own food. I will go back if I visit north Wales again.

Luke May 2023 - Exceptional customer experience. Ian & Hanneke demonstrate the upmost sincerity and care in what they do. By the end of my stay, it felt like I had visited friends. In my opinion, the upper echelons of customer experience are met when you no longer feel like a customer. I am delighted that I chose to stay at Plas Isa; in particular, because I no longer have to deliberate as to where I will stay whenever I visit Snowdonia in the future. I have found my favourite! If you are visiting the area for a hiking trip (or similar activity), you would be doing exceptionally well to find a superior place to stay. I earnestly look forward to staying at Plas Isa again, when I revisit the area to enjoy nearby mountains such as Cader Idris, Cnicht, & Aran Fawddwy. Thanks to Ian & Hanneke for making my holiday a memorable one. See you again soon!
